It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of our valuable and irreplaceable kinswoman, Shirley Davis, on February 19th, 2004. Shirley has been a great mother, wife, organizer of heathen events, hostess, and general keeper of the frith.
We will always hold her dearly in our loving memory, and we offer our sincerest condolences and support to her family -- Cody, Larissa, Heather, and Mitchell -- who are also folk of our clan and Kindred. May our gods, goddesses, ancestral spirits, and disir always not only bless her in the otherworld but also her family here in Midgard.

The NWA Kindred exists for the practice of the pre-Christian Scandinavian/Germanic religion in Northwest Arkansas. We gather together for sumbels, blots, or games on such holy days as Yule and Midsummer. We also study the languages and skills of the Northern European peoples, e.g. learning Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon, studying the sagas and Eddas, rune carving, and mead-making. Recent events include games (hammer toss, log toss, etc) at Midsummer, rune classes, and an open sumbel at a large pagan Fall Festival gathering. Our members and friends come from a variety of ancestral backgrounds, and like the vast majority of heathen organizations, we are opposed to racism and racial hatred.

We are a closed group, however we consider admitting those who are dedicated to serious heathen reconstructionist studies. We have two levels of affiliation: friends and members. You may contact one of the following to be considered for our group: m_clanton9@yahoo.com, stoutk@hotmail.com, or wildermann9@hotmail.com.
